Hey there, fellow adult who’s probably reading this while half-watching a video, checking your email, and stirring spaghetti, welcome.
Let’s talk about the thing that’s got your kid bouncing from screen to screen like a caffeinated squirrel:
TikTok Brain.

Now before you roll your eyes or assume it’s just another internet buzzword, let me assure you: I’m not here to fearmonger. I’m not deleting my Wi-Fi, and I’m definitely not throwing our devices into the sea (though I have fantasized about it once or twice).

As both an international school teacher and a parent, I’ve seen this phenomenon up close. I’ve watched kids who can code Minecraft mods like tiny geniuses completely blank out when asked to write a paragraph. I’ve seen students swipe an imaginary screen in midair when bored. I’ve had my own child try to “fast-forward” a picture book.

So yeah, it’s real.
Let’s explore what this whole TikTok Brain thing is, how it’s affecting our kids (and us ), and what we can do to gently, lovingly reset their overwhelmed attention spans.
