There's a driving scene in ZODIAC which, as Youtube channel host Grimbeard pointed out, is shot so smoothly and framed so perfectly that even though it predates when gaming graphics had anything like that level of fidelity, it ends up looking like just lets play footage of a car driving in a Triple A game because that would be a common point of view to play from. I believe this is more a sign of David Fincher's notorious perfectionism than any kind of intentional point he was making, but it's curious to see footage reach a certain level of technical proficiency where it ends up taking away from its impact.
What instances of this come to mind for you?
