To what extent would it be considered silly to say that the Lord of the Rings movies are a staple of 21st century cinema?

I was wondering what other people thought about this. The LotR films are just so amazing to me for multiple reasons. First of all, they were shot back to back, with a massive ensemble cast where pretty much every actor killed it. They employed groundbreaking special effects, thousands of extras. And for how massive an undertaking all that was, they did turn out to be really great movies. There are many large budget films that din't turn out to be great.

They influenced so many films made afterwards. Everyone tried to imitate them (e.g. Narnia). Pretty much none of them have cone close to the quality of LotR, save perhaps Dune.

As a huge Tolkien fan, I realize they butcher the books, but in terms of the quality, they do them justice, if that makes sense. Like, they are good enough to be nearly at the level of the book.

So I would consider these films to be the staple of 21st century cinema. Like, the most amazing cienmatic achievement this century has produced. If I were to go back to, let's say, the '80s, and had to show them only 3 films from this century, I would choose LotR.

Like, I am sorry if I am not making sense, but the piint is, if I had to summarise this century, I would do it with the LotR trilogy.

I was wondering what people thought? Is my opinion unpopular?
