I helped my mom (69, in a nursing home, and mildly confused) apply for Medicaid (Pennsylvania) but her application was denied due to insufficient information. We are appealing it but they need her 401k information. I’m having great difficulty finding anything about this 401k. Her 401k was closed out years ago, and the company she had it with (according to the Medicade office) says they have no record of her. They recently merged with another firm and could only give me dead ends. Tried calling her former employer, a hospital that was bought out years ago and they had no information to give me either.
I spent half a day calling numbers and searching and can’t find anything. Is there anything I can do? I’m becoming desperate. She can’t remember anything about it, and the only information I have to work with is leading me nowhere. Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
