Trying to understand the proper way to report a new job without a gap in insurance (NY)

I applied for Medicaid while unemployed after losing coverage from my parent's plan. I recently got a job and I will be paid in a couple of weeks. My income will be relatively low but probably still too high to qualify for Medicaid. My employer does not offer health insurance to new employees for 90 days. My current Medicaid plan will expire shortly after those 90 days (thankfully not before) but I'm still concerned about what to do in the meantime. I have a number of health issues and several doctors appointments scheduled in the next few months.

When and how should I report my income? Technically I don't even know what it will be yet because the hours will vary somewhat from week to week, plus who knows how much is being taken out for taxes, but if I report it after my first paycheck am I liable to lose coverage for the intervening months? Or will I be allowed to stay on my current plan, either until I join my employer's plan or my current Medicaid plan ends and I don't renew it? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, as much of the information I have found about is contradictory.
