My own little fan theory is that Del from PTAA isn’t his real name and after living homeless on the road he suffered from some mental illness after losing his wife. After Steve Martins character helps him get back on his feet and receive counseling he reveals his real name is Buck Russel. He is reconnected with his older brother and their kids. Years later he struggles with commitments and work but finds comfort in rediscovering his lost family.
