By skyforbes Hello! I live in Virginia and have Medicaid because I’m low income and am expecting my first child in the next month. However my income has changed to 0 since I have quit my job to take care of my new baby and my boyfriend and I will be moving into new apartments soon as well that I won’t be paying into since I sent him all the money I could for savings for our future.
I didn’t include him in any of the paperwork because everyone told me it’s none of the governments business and that his income could go towards disqualifying me. That I just needed to say he was a roommate and not part of my household which I’m pretty sure is what I did. I’m waiting until I give birth to notify Medicaid about this change just so everything goes smoothly but I’m going to be down as 0 income with 0 expenses.
How does that work? Will my baby still qualify for Medicaid? Will I? Should I just put my boyfriend down with his income? He makes 50k but after taxes it’s way less and he’ll be taking care of everything with his paycheck and our savings. I’m just anxious and wanna make sure I do all of this right, I also want to make sure I don’t lose my WIC and still have the abilities to apply for SNAP. If anybody has any advice please let me know!
