Water cooler small talk is a special kind of small talk, typically observed in office spaces around a water cooler. There, employees frequently share all kinds of corporate gossip, myths, legends, inaccurate scientific opinions, indiscreet personal anecdotes, or outright lies. Anything goes. So, in my Water Cooler Small Talk posts, I discuss strange and usually scientifically invalid opinions that I, my friends, or some acquaintance of mine have overheard in the office that have literally left us speechless.

ChatGPT access should be blocked in office, just as porn or gambling websites are blocked.

I get it… These are rather scary times to be working in corporate IT, let alone cybersecurity. The AI discussion opens up a whole new world of untapped potential, but also unknown risks and threats, and for sure, it is easier to cut it from the root — just block access to all AI tools — and get on with your business as usual. But let’s be for real! AI is the technological breakthrough of our times, and even if we may not be enthusiasts of this technology, we for sure…
