Job description: The Water/Wastewater Project Manager selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in water and wastewater facilities projects that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for a Project Manager that has 8+ years of experience in providing project management for water and wastewater projects to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and either part-time or full-time (approximately 20-40 hours per week) in the Orange County area.Projects may include:
- Sewer Relocation or Rehabilitation Projects
- Pump Station Replacement and Rehabilitation Projects
- Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation and Expansion Projects
- Utility Systems (I&C)
As a Water/Wastewater Project Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead engineering projects from planning and design through construction and post-construction phases.
- Develop project schedules, cost estimates, staffing plans, and budgets; monitor performance against goals.
- Direct project teams, assign tasks, and coordinate activities to ensure milestones are achieved.
- Inspect work for quality, manage project risks, and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Oversee the selection, coordination, and performance of outside consultants and contractors.
- Conduct project team meetings, prepare planning documents, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Represent the District in meetings with community groups, agencies, and other stakeholders.
As a Water/Wastewater Project Manager, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field
- 8+ years of professional project management experience
- Possession of a California Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Certificate in Construction Management (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Preferred: Public Agency experience
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship in the U.S.)
- Valid CA Driver’s License and proof of insurance
