What Film Most Deserved an Oscar Nomination yet Received None?

I struggle to answer this question. I was shocked to notice some films that didn't receive a single nomination at the Oscars. If I could vote for a single film it would be The Shining. Somehow, some way, it received zero nominations at the 1981 Oscars.

1980 had some pretty stupendous films such as Ordinary People, The Elephant Man, and Raging Bull, but I'd consider The Shining above them all. There a handful of incredible films to not receive a single nomination throughout history, but what I'd say separates The Shining, is the number of nominations it was deserving of. There were so many categories where a win or at least a nomination should have happened.

The Shining may not have been Stanley Kubrick's most influential film, but it was Kubrick's most spotless. Is this the biggest screw up in the history of the Oscars, it must be.

What film would you say was the most snubbed?
