A few weeks ago, I decided to offer my Malaysian recipe for Chai Tow Kway (CTK) — aka Carrot Cake (in Singapore) — for free download on my Facebook page. It’s the same recipe I used to use for my restaurant back in the day.
A recipe that has allowed me to quit my career as an IT consultant and do what I love.
How much is this knowledge worth? You do the math. But you could get it completely free, along with my video walkthrough covering all the typical mistakes to avoid and ingredient substitution suggestions (for those who, like me, live outside of Malaysia).
All you needed to do was to sign up to my email list.
No upselling, no crazy tricks up my sleeve, no asking for your credit card number.
Now, I’ve just hopped over to the original post to check the comments. These are the results:
1) Su Brown in Western Australia warned other people from signing up, saying “WTF” she received 5 emails from me in 7 days.
If Su had only bothered to read this part of my original Welcome email where it literally says
“I write emails regularly — on everything from practical cooking tips, to behind-the-scenes looks….”
then she would have known that I write A LOT, and saved both of us a lot of bandwidth by unsubscribing right away.
