What movies would you recommend for conservative parents 60+?

Yesterday on Reddit I stumbled on a hilarious clip from Hot Fuzz (2007) – the scene where the main character tries to talk to a farmer but can’t understand a word because of the thick accent. Then they go check the barn and suddenly there’s this massive secret stash of weapons, including an actual naval mine.

So I decided to rewatch it (I'd seen it before, but my brain has a remarkable ability to completely erase movie memories after a while).

The beginning is so funny – exactly the kind of humor I love. I immediately thought, "I should recommend this to my parents."

And then the bloody scenes started, and I realized there is no way they’d enjoy that. 🙁

P.S. My parents are quite conservative, and it’s always a challenge to recommend anything from more modern cinema. For them, basically anything made after the year 2000 counts as "new" 🙂

So – what movies would you recommend for 60+ conservative parents who don’t like action, blood, s*x scenes or anything too intense?

And what do you think – do scenes like that make a movie better or worse?
