What was Godfrey doing while we were defeating all the demigods?

This guy shows up endgame after we’ve defeated potentially every other demigod. There’s little to no evidence through the game that he’s also returned until after we’ve burned the Erdtree. Assuming all Tarnished were resurrected at it around the same time, what the hell was the “First Elden Lord” doing? You’d think kore-wise he would’ve wanted to put Radahn out of his misery, maybe do the same to Mohg, put down Miquella, etc.
