Which movies feels boring like a hell at the start but pays off at the end??

What movies start off painfully slow, dull, or even ridiculous, but slowly pull you in and end with a powerful, memorable finale? Drop your best picks.

And please give some underrated movies which are not widely popular in the masses.

Edit: Can you guys justify how it pays off in the end—without spoilers—but from a cinema lover’s perspective? I recently watched Barry Lyndon, and even though it’s long and slow at the start (honestly, the whole movie moves slowly), by the end I felt like I had experienced an entire lifetime. It felt as if I had lived through his journey and become part of his world.
