The Game Awards have quickly become the "Oscars" of gaming. The awards are awarded based on 10% public vote and 90% jury vote, but who makes up that powerful 90% of the vote?
I took the 153 jury publications listed here and put them on a map using Excel. Some quick notes:
The UK has the second-most publications with 14. Some small microstates are difficult to view here: Chile has 3, Singapore has 2, Hong Kong has 1, UAE has 1.
Number of Publications in the voting jury by continent:
- Europe: 56
- North America: 36
- Asia: 35
- South America: 19
- Oceania: 4
- Africa: 3
The Game awards has two "country" categories that are regions and not countries: Middle East and Benelux. I did my best looking at the websites for each publication and gave a best guess as to where they are located to place them on this map.
The Accessibility award and the Esports awards have their own separate nominating and voting juries.
