Why ChatGPT started failing on some basic questions?

I was watching the video about insulation and guy said “glass fibre” is not good because…, further he told “mineral wool” is good option and showing some product he using made glass fibre) I’m not native English speaker and decided to dive deeper in terminology because from technical perspective they all mineral wool. I ask ChatGPT why he differentiated them and provided product he proposed.

ChatGPT told yeah mineral wool is generally better and safer because it made from stone/rock. But my question was why guy in video differentiate “glass fibre insulation” and that product which also made from glass fibre as “mineral wool”.

Explanation not even close to my question 🙄 Same time another AI told me exactly what I asked, it’s just terminology mismatch and marketing thing.

Maybe it’s just my opinion but after updating to GPT-5 model, engine started lying even on simple things. Basic Wikipedia knowledge, I don’t understand really. Super annoying considering that I pay money for it. Maybe someone knows how to deal with it?
