ChatGPT has become an intimidating person riding the classroom and study spaces, explaining things, summarizing notes, and sometimes even writing essays.
Technology is a tool, but wisdom comes from how we use it.
However, the use of internet technology extends beyond this as students have started misusing it. It has become a tool that they take recourse to instead of learning on their own: why is this so?
AI can guide your learning, but it should never replace your effort.
One of the main reasons is convenience. Students pressed on deadlines or wanting high marks simply see it as a shortcut in completing their race: “Instead of wrestling with the tough homework, I can just pick one up from somewhere else,” said one student.
It is much easier in the moment, but it deprives them of learning the real skills like critical and analytic thinking and problem solve.
True education is not about copying answers, it is about building understanding.
