One of the main reasons is convenience. Students pressed on deadlines or wanting high marks simply see it as a shortcut in completing their race: “Instead of wrestling with the tough homework, I can just pick one up from somewhere else,” said one student.
It is much easier in the moment, but it deprives them of learning the real skills like critical and analytic thinking and problem solve.
