By skyforbes Kurt Russell still does movies for Disney yet he has never returned to his Disney character Dexter Riley. I noticed how this era has been forgotten by Disney. Growing up in 70s I loved Russell’s Dexter movies. I also loved Gus and the Apple Dumpling Gang movies. Disney never brought back Riley, Gus has been forgotten and Apple Dumpling utterly forgotten. They did bring back Witch Mountain. Recasting Apple Dumpling Gang would be tough Don Knotts and Tim Conway was great. Dexter Riley now can have Kurt Russell be dean of the science department where they invent weird stuff.
I can’t be the only person who grew up loving these movies. I also never understood why they didn’t make a big budget version of Johnny Tremain. I believe the novel by Esther Forbes is still in print.
