I’m so done with partisan politics — I want the big picture.
It’s been fascinating watching the number of people who subscribe (not followers) removing themselves from my Medium account. I fully understand why that is. I’m not joining in the myriad of progressive voices here on Medium, and they want to read only the progressive slant.
That said, I am also tired of X and it’s constant view that Trump can do no wrong — he can do plenty wrong. I’ve tried Threads and Blue Sky and Post and Substack and they’re all partisan, and if you deviate from the common narrative, you’re done. Not even the algorithm gives you the time of day.
I’ve been without a political home for some years now, falling in between the accepted narratives of both sides, and annoying each side because I said something that they perceived to be ‘on the other side.’ I’m tired of being called a libtard or a MAGA.
In any event, I want to know the big picture, the international picture, the non-partisan picture. I want to know what is going on in a world of 8.4 billion people. And TikTok provides that.
Fortunately, even if the US bans them, the EU won’t. So I’m safe there.
