By skyforbes Exactly what the title says. Honestly, whenever I need to dictate something which is usually easier for me I normally use ChatGPT because its voice-to-text transcription is incredibly accurate. Shockingly accurate.
Meanwhile, Gemini’s is unbelievably bad. Like, Gemini 3 is an excellent model, don’t get me wrong. It’s actually the best model available right now. But the voice recognition is terrible. And just to clarify, I mean speech-to-text, because when it comes to the Live mode or Voice Mode, it works fine.
But if I want to dictate something and have Gemini turn that into text, it performs horribly. It just can’t capture what I’m saying accurately.
Does anyone know if there's an update coming soon that might improve this?
I love Gemini, but for me, dictation is way easier, and in that aspect, Gemini is awful.
Just as additional information, I've noticed this bad performance on both English and Spanish speech-to-text.
