What Is ChatGPT Atlas?
Atlas is a new web browser with ChatGPT built in. It brings help to the page you’re on, so you don’t have to copy-paste between tabs.
- Core features: a sidebar that understands the page you’re viewing, in-line writing help, and an early Agent Mode that can take multi-step actions (like planning a trip or filling a cart) with your say-so.
- Availability: macOS now (global), with Windows, iOS, and Android “coming soon.” Atlas is free for all ChatGPT users, with Agent Mode in preview for Plus, Pro, and Business.
- Under the hood: Atlas runs on a new architecture called OWL (OpenAI’s Web Layer) that separates the Chromium engine from the main app — aimed at fast starts, stability, and agent use cases.
