I'm getting kicked off Medi-Cal(Medicaid in California) because I had to report an inheritance to SSI, which I did last week. From what I'm reading I will still be eligible for Medi-Cal even if not for SSI, so I will definitely be reapplying. But I'm told that I will be kicked off and have to reapply.

I have some prescriptions ready to be picked up that I don't need that badly, but I'm wondering if I could pick them up without fear of being back charged? I guess the question comes down to, is Medi-Cal super strict about when you become ineligible and maybe responsible for some prescriptions that they paid for? I reported my inheritance to SSI last week but they haven't notified me that I've been cut off yet, but I'm waiting for that sometime later this month.

Edit: I Don't know how/if Medi-Cal differs from Medicaid in other states
