By skyforbes I got into a yellow cab at LGA (from the taxi queue) going to lower manhattan. First thing I notice is no hack license posted. Then I noticed the guy going over the Triborough Bridge, but by then it was too late. The fare was double what I expected as a result.
When we get to the drop off, I told the guy the fare was too much, and he acted dumb. I showed him what the price should be on curb, and I offered to pay that. Only after saying I was going to report him to the TLC did he start trying to apologize. He offered me a free fare, but I just gave him about what curb said in cash.
Watch out for these drivers! The threat of a TLC report is your friend.
