when your nervous system stays under low-grade stress long enough, your brain starts treating that state as normal and you stop feeling stressed and start calling it your personality which is kinda wild when you really think about it.
You think you’re:
• naturally irritable
• bad at relaxing
• always behind
• “just not a morning person”
• tired for no clear reason
but a lot of that can be your body stuck in survival mode long after the original pressure changed.
and here’s the weird part, real rest can feel uncomfortable at first. Quiet feels wrong. Doing nothing feels like you’re messing up somehow. That’s usually a nervous system that forgot what neutral feels like.
Most people don’t realize they’re stressed. They just think that’s their baseline now, that’s just “me.”
Once that clicks… it’s hard to unsee. it was for this guy anyways..ugh
